About the Organization
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore, my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him." (Psalms 28:7)
Music is a God’s gift to mankind. It is also a powerful form of expression. Music expresses the sense of the Holy God in an extraordinarily powerful way. It communicates our thoughts, praise and thanksgiving to our ever-powerful Lord Almighty in a way that pleases Him. The Choir is an imminent fragment that makes this process favorable and it is an inevitable part of the worship service of our Church. From time immemorial, musical worship has been a vital aspect of glorifying God. As the New Testament commands, us, we are to be involved in teaching and commending one another, singing with grace and praise in our hearts to the Lord. The largest choir in the church is the congregation. Role of choir in leading worship is to help our church sing together and experience the presence of God. Leading the congregation in hymns and prayers is essential for worship, since praise is much desired by God. We have a rich heritage of songs and music. Our talented, dedicated and devoted Malayalam (Junior and Senior) and English Choir strives for excellence and faithfully enhances our Congregation's worship experience. The choir is an approved organization of the parish and running as per the constitution of DSMC. The MTCD Carrollton choir have English and Malayalam wings and is registered with the Department of Sacred Music and Communications with a total of 40 male and 49 female singers. The English and junior Malayalam choir have 56 dedicated members and senior Malayalam choir have 33 members.
Malayalam choir (Junior and Senior) gathered to practice in the church every Sunday at 9:30am and alternate Saturdays, English choir on alternate Sundays after services and alternate Saturdays. The practice sessions of choir always bound us together in our Lord Jesus Christ, for His glory and honor.
